XXYYXX - About You

The post-dubstep scene again, we can't get tired of this.

It's better late than never.."About You" was released at the end of the past month and by mistake or just forgetting we didin't talked about it. XXYYX has only 16 years old and keeps delivering big tracks and projects including this one that came with a official video. Again, with a very James Blake inspiration beats and some sort of reggae sounds made this a pretty combination of music genres. Enjoy.

Azealia Banks - 1991 EP

Available now, the much anticipated new EP from Azealia Banks, 1991.

And it finnaly came. The musch anticipated new EP from Azealia is here and has 2 new fresh tracks, "1991" and "Van Vogue", that add to the other 2 tracks already know by the pyblic, "212" and "Liquorice". Machinedrum. Except "212", all the tracks have instrumentals produced by Machinedrum which makes it even more interesting. Azealia is in fact a huge upcoming artist to be reckon from now on. Already with a mixtape, album and high-profile collaborations on the way, no one can deny that she is one of the best in this industry. Huge beats and some sharp tongue lyrics make this EP one the best in the first half of the year and  we can only see bigger things from Azealia Banks in the future. Below you can listen the snnipet EP. Enjoy.

:: TOP 10 of the Month :: MAY :: 4º---2º

Looking back, to best tunes relesead in May. For the next 4 days we will show you our TOP 10.

4º: Azealia Banks - Jumanji

Azealia is probably the best new artist to come up in the last year. With only 20 years old (makes 21 on  Thursday) she already made a name for herself with some crazy dance tunes without even an album/EP release. That ended yesterday with the release of 1991 EP but earlier this month she released a new track from her upcoming mixtape, "Jumanji". The song is produced by the crazy beatmaker Hudson Mowake and Nick Hook. It gets our 4th position.

3º: Jessie Ware - What You Won't Do For Love

Along with Azealia, Jessie Ware is also a female artist to be reckon in the future. Getting ready for her debut album, Jessie released a cover of Bobby Caldwell’s "What You Won’t Do For Love" in the past week. There is no information if the song will be or not in her new album but it should be, because it's one of her best works so far. The single is produced by Sampha (from SBTRKT) and it reaches the bronze medal.

Jessie Ware - What You Won't Do For Love by JessieWare

2º: Disclosure - What's In Your Head

It was really difficult to choose the top 2 tracks of May but....Guy and Howard Lawrence have to admit, they had a little help on this one from :). The unofficial video that this guy posted on youtube has already more than 700,000 views. It's probably one of the sexiest videos we have ever seen and it is perfect for the single. In fact, the two brothers deserve all the hype around them in recent times..being so young (18 and 21), they are already changing the house/uk funky scene a little bit around the world. If this was the top 10 videoclips of the year this had to be on 1st place for sure. Sexy stuff from Disclosure.

Don't forget to check out tomorrow the number ONE track of May. Enjoy.

:: TOP 10 of the Month :: MAY :: 7º---5º

Looking back, to best tunes relesead in May. For the next 4 days we will show you our TOP 10.

7º: Kimbra - Build Up

Kimbra Johnson gets our 7º place with her lovely new track, "Build Up", that will  be featured in her debut album VOWS, out May 22.

6º: Jodeci - Freek n You (TOKiMONSTA Frickinyoo remix)

TOKiMONSTA putting some extra beats on Jodeci's "Freek n You". It just had to be in the top tracks of May."Make some frickin freek babies".

Jodeci - Freek n You (TOKiMONSTA Frickinyoo remix) by TOKiMONSTA

5º: Bobby Womack - The Bravest Man In The Universe

Womack's new album comes out in the middle of June but XL Recordings are already releasing some tracks from it. This month came out "The Bravest Man In The Universe" and (today) "Dayglo Reflection" that could be both on the Top, but we chose the first one because somehow sound like the official anthem to Bobby Womack's triumphant return (And because the first single is actually the title track of the album and singing with Lana Del Rey always put you on top.). "The Bravest Man In The Universe" gets our fifth position.

blogger templatesblogger widgets

Bobby Womack - Dayglo Reflection (feat. Lana Del Rey)

The collab between the soul legend and the new diva star finnaly comes out. It's a doozy!

After "Please Forgive My Heart" and "The Bravest Man In The Universe" XL Records release another single from the much anticipated new album (an candidate for top of the year) from Bobby Womack, The Bravest Man in The Universe. Womack's new single has the collaboration of Lana Del Rey and it could be the best yet from the single already released. Lana's beautiful and smooth voice is perfect to follow  the rough and raspy classic soul from Bobby Womack and the beats and samples created by XL’s Richard Russell and Gorillaz main figure Damon Albarn. Enjoy.

Kindness - House by TOODAMNFUNKY

9º: Neneh Cherry + The Thing - Dream Baby Dream (Four Tet remix)

Brilliant remix from Four Tet for Neneh Cherry and The Thing's "Dream Baby Dream". More used to hear more techno/experimental stuff from Kieran Hebden, it's with happiness that we come across this beautiful new track, with plenty of electronic jazz in it. It gets our 9º place.

Soundtracks Of Our Live: TV Theme Songs

Today, we introduce a new series focusing the Soundtracks that make our life just a little bit happier..
On today's special we bring to you some TV Theme Tracks that made or still make your day.

Who didn't see at least one time House? Nobody! The famous series that followed the life of madmen and crazy Gregory House ended last sunday after 8 years of success. A show so popular has to be accompanied by a quality soundtrack, and "Teardrop" from Massive Attack gets the job done. And now that House is over, the song makes even more sense..

Knight Rider

Accelerate at maximum speed, 80's way, that's the Knight Rider's way. The show run in the first half of the 80's and followed  a lone crimefighter battling the forces of evil with the help of an indestructible and artificially intelligent supercar, KITT! Stu Phillips made the song.

Mad Men

"A drama about one of New York's most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm's most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper." Classic music made by RJD2, called "A Beautiful Mine".

Not that the music is brilliant or something like that, but this theme is just timeless. All the generation that grew up in the beggining of the 2000's knew what was going on if this music was playing....stupid stunts! And we ALL love it. "Corona" is the name, from Minutemen

The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air

And we left the best for last. Will Smith aka Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff with "Yo Home To Bel-Air". The early 90's saw the birth and growth of mass hip-hop and rap culture and Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air was an example. The show was full of laughs, dance, party, one or other drama and the music captures it all, making it more than a symbol that marked the generation who watched the program. And probably marked the life of Will Smith..

With a lot of two-step beats, drum & bass, and a little hip-hop in the mix, the mixtape is the official launch of Py to the world. Kindness is in our modest opinion, a very underrated. We'll show you why.

The new album (World, You Need a Change of Mind) from Kindness had mixed feelings from the press. Guardian said that it was a great album but Pitchfork only rated it as 6.4. For us it is really a great album that was plenty of joy and chilled out moments. Kindness does not establish  in just only one genre, it swings between electro-pop, disco, funk, synth-pop, chillwave, who knows....and that's just why we love them, a misture of Toro Y Moi, Ariel Pink, LCD Soundsystem. We sure hope this band get's the credit they deserve. And for just that we show you some of the album singles as "House" that recently had a videoclip to follow were Kindness front man, Adam Bainbridge, teaches a kid how to produce a dance track. Enjoy.

Official video for "Tira o Pe", from the album Komba. A special tribute to the fans.

"Buraka keep the Komba spirit alive and well with 'Tira o Pe' - the hedonistic club anthem has been inspiring dancefloor riots ever since the album dropped on the night of Halloween. If Buraka's sophomore album was a celebration of life, this new single is the focal point of that energy, aimed straight at the dancefloor. Consistently eliciting such a fierce and riotous response during the band's live shows throughout Europe and the Americas, the choice to release this song at the 3rd album single was one that was made by the fans."

Bobby Tank - Afterburn

Probably the biggest summer tune in the latest time. Bobby Tank, we salute you!

"Afterburn", the track and EP, is getting huge support from major dj's, producers, radio hosts that are calling it a massive summer track. The following quotes were taken from MofoHifi:

"Massive massive summer vibes from Bobby Tank. The track is called Afterburn. He calls himself a 'maximalist' I guess in reference to the fact that that track has a huge amount going on in terms of ideas and melody and sounds and dynamics, but look at the way he ties it all together: Wonderful." (Zane Lowe. BBC Radio 1 "Next Hype")

New single from Anthony Valadez for Plug Research Music.

We've got to admit, we really don't now many things about Anthony Valadez..only that he is a dj/radio host at  KCRW in California. He started producing some stuff a couple years ago and tonight Plug Research Music released is recent project "Under Water". In the EP is also two remixes, one that speed's the track with some 2-step beats and another that gives some slow jam to the song. Enjoy.
